Skilled labor
|
Over the next 10 years the residential and commercial construction industry will need to replace thousands of workers. Since the housing crisis of 2006-2008, very few have entered this field as a career choice. Between the 10-year gap in skilled labor development and pending retirement of this workforce, more skilled craftsman are needed than ever for the local economy to keep pace. The homebuilders program introduces students to the major contruction fields of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and Electricity. Students enter the first year program and complete course work and then work with an adivsory to find Co-op opportunities the following year. Students may also enter a more specialized course work with further course work.
